bajilive Cricket Betting — Top Markets for BPL, IPL and T20 World Cup
Cricket is Bangladesh's most popular sport. At bajilive you can bet on every format from T20 to Test — before the match starts or while it is live.
Cricket's three formats and Bangladesh's favourite tournaments
The first step to understanding cricket betting is understanding the formats — because odds and markets work differently in each one.
T20: The shortest and fastest format. Each team plays only 20 overs, so the momentum can shift at any moment. BPL, IPL and the T20 World Cup are the three tournaments most familiar to fans in Bangladesh. BPL is our own tournament, and Bangladesh Tigers also play T20 on the international stage. A lot can happen in a few overs, which is why live betting is especially popular in this format.
ODI: In a one-day match each team gets 50 overs. The pace is slightly slower than T20, but there is much more room for a comeback. Bangladesh plays ODIs in various ICC tournaments, and these matches are always of interest to bettors.
Test: Five-day cricket is the longest and most tactical format. A draw is possible in Test matches, so markets are built around three outcomes — Team A win, Team B win, or draw. In the limited-overs formats, ODI and T20, there is no draw; only two outcomes are possible.
Cricket has far more markets than football or other sports. Football mainly offers goal scorers, match results and corner markets, but in cricket you get separate markets for wickets, runs, overs and individual batsmen. Popular betting markets at bajilive
There are many types of bets you can place on a cricket match. Below are the 7 most common markets with brief examples.
Match Winner
Which team will win the match — the simplest market. Team A vs Team B; bet on the team you think will win. Two outcomes in T20 or ODI, three in Test.
Toss Winner
Which team will win the toss before the match starts — this is a completely separate market. The toss result has no connection to the match result, so it stands as an independent betting option. Many bettors look at pitch conditions and the type of surface when considering this market.
Top Batsman
Which batsman from a given team will score the most runs in that innings — this is an individual performance market. You bet on the name of the player you think will top-score for Team A. Batting form and pitch conditions are the key factors to consider.
Total Runs Over/Under
Will the combined runs of both teams go over or under a set number — in this market the match result does not matter, only the run total does. Example: choose over or under 320 total runs. Wickets, the pitch and the weather all influence this market.
Over in Which the First Wicket Falls
In which over will the first wicket fall — this market depends on the opening partnership. If the bowling attack is strong, a wicket could fall in the early overs; a solid opening pair could push the game much further along before the first wicket.
Handicap Betting
When the two teams are at very different levels, a virtual advantage is given to the weaker team to balance the market. For example, if Team B gets a 15-run handicap, Team A must win by more than 15 runs for a bet on Team A to win. This market does not track specific run or wicket counts — it only checks whether the handicap condition has been met.
Multi Bet (multiple selections)
You can combine bets on multiple matches or markets to go for a larger return. Example: three selections with decimal odds of 1.40, 1.60 and 1.90 give combined odds of 1.40 × 1.60 × 1.90 = 4.26 (approximately), so a ৳100 bet returns ৳426 — but the condition is that all three selections must win; if one loses, the entire bet is lost. Find more details about multi bets on the bajilive Bet page.
How odds are written in three formats
Before betting on cricket at bajilive, it helps to understand decimal, fractional and American odds formats.
Example 1 — Team A win priced in three formats (bet ৳200)
Decimal 2.50 = Fractional 3/2 = American +150. A winning bet returns ৳500 (৳300 profit + ৳200 original stake); if it loses, ৳200 is gone. Decimal odds show the full return including the stake — straightforward to calculate.
Example 2 — Favourite team priced (Team B win, bet ৳200)
Decimal 1.80 = Fractional 4/5 = American -125. American minus odds show how much stake is needed to win ৳100. A ৳200 bet returns ৳360 (৳160 profit).
Decimal format is the easiest — just multiply your stake by the odds to get the total return. Fractional comes from English betting tradition and shows only the profit. In American format, a favourite's odds are written with a minus (-) sign and an underdog's with a plus (+) sign.
Choosing an odds format is a matter of personal preference — all three formats carry the same information, just presented differently.
Live Betting — odds that shift with every wicket and over
Live or in-play betting after the match starts makes cricket betting much more dynamic.
In cricket the situation changes after every ball. If a wicket falls, the batting team's odds rise immediately; if a batsman hits several boundaries in a row, the fielding team's odds shorten. Live betting lets you place bets as these changes unfold.
For example: Team A is batting and after 5 overs has scored 30 runs for 2 wickets. At that point Team A's odds of winning will be much higher than at the start, while Team B's odds will have shortened — because losing wickets reduces the ability to score runs.
Live odds move fastest in T20 — because there is less time in the match. High run rates during the powerplay, pressure in the middle overs, or a steep required run rate in the final overs — live markets behave differently in each phase.
In Test matches live betting plays out over a longer stretch. Pitch conditions, weather and the batting team's approach become clearer gradually, so by the final session of the day the odds are more grounded in available information.
LIVE Live betting requires quick decisions. Check the latest score and over count before placing a bet. Remember — betting is for entertainment and does not guarantee a profit.
Things to keep in mind for live betting
- Odds shift immediately after each wicket — both the opportunity and the risk increase.
- Run rates change quickly during the powerplay and death overs.
- The window to accept a bet in live markets is short — watch closely.
- Rather than spreading bets across several live markets at once, focus on fewer selections.
Betting on Football and other sports
bajilive offers betting not just on cricket but also on football and several other sports.
Football Betting
The main markets in football are match winner, handicap and both teams to score. Compared to cricket, far fewer events happen in 90 minutes of football, so live odds change less frequently. International football as well as various leagues are available here.
More Sports Events
Beyond cricket and football, bajilive has more sports events available. To see all available events in one place, visit the full sports events list page — it has the most up-to-date information.
With innings, wickets, runs and overs all generating separate markets, cricket offers several times more markets than football. That is why cricket is the most popular sport for betting in Bangladesh.
Useful tips for cricket betting
A few things worth keeping in mind for the best betting experience.
- Set a budget: Decide how much you will bet on each match before you start. Treating betting as entertainment helps you avoid taking on more risk than you intended.
- Understand the format before betting: T20 and Test markets are different. It is better not to bet heavily across both at the same time before you are comfortable with each one.
- Compare odds: Take a look at the odds across different markets for a match. Bet on the market you actually understand.
- Use multi bets with care: Even if the combined odds look large, the risk goes up considerably. One wrong selection and the entire bet is lost.
- Play responsibly: Placing a bigger bet on the next match to recover a loss is not a good idea. Learn more about responsible gaming.
- Try Shaolin Soccer: It is not just cricket — bajilive also has Shaolin Soccer betting for a different kind of experience.
